The Maine Student Book Award is designed to expand literary horizons of students in grades 4-8 by encouraging them to read, evaluate, and enjoy a selection of new books. The award is determined each year by participating Maine students.

The 2024 Youth Media Awards were announced this Monday, Jan. 22. The American Library Association (ALA) honors books, audio, and other outstanding materials for children and teens each year. The awards include the Newbery, Caldecott, Printz, and Coretta Scott King Book Awards and encourage original and creative work in children’s and young adult literature and media.
